Does anyone have any info on Bell’s Palsy? The condition has
persisted for 2 months.

                                  Thanks

I’ve heard that it is stroke-related <not to alarm you>. A local radio
talk-show host here in S. Fla. has it ans speaks of it on the air some-
times. He has had two mild strokes.

I had Bell’s Palsy several years ago. Very scary at first, but with
time it went away by it self. I remember the dr. said there was no
    medicine for the condition.

I also remember "Pistol Pete" Mavorich, the basketball player had it
for a while and it also went away.

Try not to worry, as I’m sure worry and stress makes it worse.

Good luck. If you have any questions about my experience please e-mail
    me.

: No it is not stroke related. Bell’s palsy is due to an inflammatory
: process affecting the seventh cranial nerve that innervates
: facial musculature. On the side of the nerve involvement
: there will be an inability to close the eye. It is important
: to protect the eye from foreign objects and infections.
: I don’t think the cause is known but usually it resolves
: within a couple months. I am not aware of any effective
: treatment for this condition. Good luck.

Acupuncture is indeed effective clinically for resolving Bell’s palsy. A
single treatment can sometimes bring substantial, noticeable relief.

My chiropractor has had good results in treating Bell’s palsy.  She uses
kineseology as well as manipulation therapys.
