Yes Omega3 has been postulated by some to be important in preventing
heart disease. The jury is still out. One of the problems with saying
that anything is at the core of preventing heart disease is separating
out confounding variables. For instance is it the omega3 that the
Eskimos eat that is responsible or is it their genetic factors or is
it something else that they do or is it their enviornment. Separating
out different variables is extremely difficult to do. We need to work
on doing this though to try to find what really would be useful.
Hopefully your post is not an attempt to sell something.

For which there is almost always no need at all. Needling is just one means to
the same end, and a rather high-tech one, which has allure to some. It is hard
to beat the laying on of hands.

Morton's Neurosy
A friend has recently been diagnosed with Morton’s Neurosy, a very
painful disorder of the nerve at the junction between the little toe and
its neighbor toe. Her doctor has provided little information or advice
except for suggesting a surgery with often yields unsatisfactory results
and promises a long healing time.
Does anyone have any experience with this affliction? If you know of
where she can find more information or if you have anecdotal experience,
please e-mail me at
la…@vax2.concordia.ca
and I will forward your message to her.
Thanks in advance.

Somehow I missed your reply until Rich’s latest lambaste. Their are certainly
statistics being gathered, but the Chinese do not believe in human controls, as
I understand it, so they only record clinical results. The clinical results,
combined with traditional observations of the value of herbal use for specific
problems very similar to those faced by cancer patients, are promising. BUT, the
data is not ‘proof’ as conventional medicine here would prefer.

Aloha Mike,
Thanx so much for your understanding and willingness to be compliant
with the rules of the Internet (netiquette as it were). It is my
understanding that only groups which are specifically identified as
groups to merchandise products should have posts that offer to
sell product and service. The purpose of this rule is to reduce the
volume of posts which occur in newsgroups which can often be
quite overwhelming. It is probably especially important in this
newsgroup to avoid commercialization because it seems like everyone
has a "special" cure for "everything" and if it were allowed your
computer would likely overheat due to all the messages. Now before
someone comments that it is ridiculous idea for computer to overheat
from multiple messages let me disclaim that this was a joke
Some people "get around" this rule by having as their
"signature" a short "ad" for their products. Apparently short
signatures are OK although others may debate this. The Internet
is not a very well regulated system and their is much anarchy here.
I guess it is up to us to help put some controls on posts before
the higher powers that be do so and then restrict some of our
autonomy.
Aloha,
Rich
